His first season with the Club was in 1894/’95 as a centre on the First XV and he subsequently played on the wing and won his first cap against England at Lansdowne Road in 1901 in company with his Lansdowne centre B.R.W. Doran. They both played against Scotland in the next game and he won his final cap against Wales that season at St. Helens when he scored a try. He also won a Leinster Senior Cup medal with Lansdowne the same season and it appears he then retired on a high note.
