Barry Bresnihan

Barry was the first international to emerge from the Gonzaga College rugby academy. He attended University College Dublin where he studied medicine. He played rugby for UCD, Lansdowne and subsequently London Irish, when he moved to England to further his medical career.

He played for Leinster many times and also travelled with the British and Irish Lions to Australia and New Zealand in 1966 and on the tour to South Africa in 1968. He also toured Australia with the Irish team in 1967 which beat Australia 11-5 at Sydney which was the first Irish team to beat Southern Hemisphere side.
