Darragh O’Mahony
Darragh O’Mahony

Darragh earned his first International cap playing alongside fellow Lansdowne man David O’Mahony against Italy in 1998. He was a member of the Ireland squad that reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup in South Africa in 1995. Representing his country at rugby proved to be something of a family trait with his uncle and cousin both gaining honours. Having played for UCC, UCD & Lansdowne and been included in the World Cup Squad in South Africa in 1995 Darragh moved to England in 1996. He joined Birmingham side Mosley for whom he scored a staggering 32 tries in just 33 games. Bedford were then quick to snap him up, and the tries kept coming. He was the joint top try scorer with 17 tries in the National Division One. In 1999 he joined Saracens and with 26 tries he is still Saracens top try scorer in the Zurich Premiership. Darragh has recently returned to Cork where he is playing for Dolphin.
