Learned his rugby at CBC Cork where he won a senior cup medal in 1988. Subsequently played with UCC and Oxford University where he won his ‘Blue’ in 1992. He also played with Cork Con for a season before joining Lansdowne in 1996 where he won 2 Leinster Senior Cup medals in 1997 and 1998. During this his time with Lansdowne he also played for Leinster on many occasions and captained the club in 1999/2000. After leaving Lansdowne in 2002 he turned to coaching with considerable success and this included UCC to Ireland under 20 championship in 2004, Munster under 20’s and under 21’s, Dolphin in Cork who gained promotion to 1st division of AIL and assistant coach to the Irish Churchill Cup team in 2008. He is currently coaching Clonakilty in the AIL.
