F.W. Kidd appears in the very first recorded team in the Lansdowne records in the season 1872/’73 and played on the First XV up to 1879/’80 on a regular basis and featured as both a wing and centre. He was honoured with the captaincy in the 1876/’77 season and the Presidency in the 1910/’11 season.
His first cap was gained in only the third season of internationals, the first one being against England on 15/2/1875. His three caps were against England twice in 1877 and 1878 and against Scotland in 1878.
