Gerard Reidy hailed from Cork and played for Lansdowne in the season of 1952/53 with such notables as Paddy Berkery, Seamus Byrne, Leo Lynch, Bill O’Connell and Seamus Kelly (all played for Ireland) and gained his first cap that season against Wales at St. Helens losing 5-3.
On returning to his old club, Dolphin, in Cork he won four further caps. He played for Munster 20 times. He subsequently served on the committee of the I.R.F.U for a number of years and was honoured with the Presidency in 1983/1984.
