Lansdowne U10 travel to Old Belvedere

Oct 16, 2011

The Lansdowne U10 made the short journey to Anglesea Road on Sunday to take on Old Belvedere. On a beautiful Sunday morning both the Lansdowne and Old Belvedere teams served up a thrilling display of competitive end-to-end rugby. Lansdowne fielded four teams against Old Belveder's six and despite the smaller numbers, Lansdowne manged to acquit themselves magnificently.

Oscar O'Brien played brilliantly until a nasty leg injury forced his retirement. Nick Eustace impressed with his covering tackles and this is a boy to watch for the future.

Oisin Brennan was his usual self and robbed more than any boys share of ruck ball. Matthew Tonge continues to improve and today stood up for his team when leadership was required; ably assisted by John Duffy and George Coman, the three boys boys played great.

Connor Gannon and Matthew Earle produced a stunning display of tackling and both boys should be very proud of their combined tackle counts.

There was a whole host of other super supporting players, too many to mention in this post, but all are acknowledged for playing their part in what is always a competitive fixture.
