Metro League U12 Lansdowne Cheetahs vs. Navan

On Sunday 23 Feb Lansdowne Cheetahs visited Navan RFC to play their U12 team on what was a very cold frosty morning with a snow on the ground.

In our previous 2 matches in the Metro League it took us the entire 1st half to actually realise we were in a match. Today in Navan that all changed. We came straight out of the traps with some very precise passing and offloading. We hit our purple patch from the start and scored 3 tries within the first 10 minutes without reply. Navan recovered from our high tempo start and settled down to defend well for the remainder of the 1st half. Although Lansdowne did break Navan's defence to leave the score at 5-0 at half time. A fantastic first half.

In the second half Navan upped their game and scored 2 tries in quick succession early on in the 2 nd half. Navan would have scored a lot more were it not for the ferocious tackling of all the Lansdowne players.

Try scorers were David Clarke (2), Scott Healy, Gavin McGuiness, Ronan Shaw and Conor McGrath.

The coachs, players and parents were very happy with this performance.

We would especially like to thank Navan RFC for their most kind hospitality providing Soup and Sandwiches after the match.

Final Score : Navan 3  - Lansdowne Cheetahs 6
