A big problem for young ambitious players is a lack of support when it comes to the mental side of the game. Top professional players work with mental skills coaches or sports psychologists to learn how to deal with prematch nerves, become more resilient and have more confidence and self belief when out on the field. But if you aren’t in a professional set up the chances are you won’t have such mental support. Most people agree that it’s the mindset that determines how far people go in the game, yet the big challenge for young players is how do they develop their mindset?

Brian Moylett who played with Lansdowne from 2010 – 2015, winning All-Ireland titles with the u20s and senior team, is now on a mission to help young players with the mental side of the game. As a mindset & performance coach he works with 1:1 players and teams all over the world. This week he released The Book On How You Become A Pro Rugby Player on Amazon, with the foreword written by Leinster Rugby player Robbie Henshaw (link below). The
book is a guide to all aspects of the mental side of the game and will help players overcome setbacks, have major breakthroughs and achieve higher levels.

Last year Brian founded www.offfieldrugby.com though which he hosts the #1 rated The Off-Field Rugby Pod, and he has chatted to Lansdowne men in the below episodes.
