This video compilation is a throwback to the halcyon amateur days of rugby union and is a showcase for the skills of our one and only Mick Quinn.
Supported by some Lansdowne club greats, Barbarians and fellow Ireland players, this glorious video is a reminder of when the game was played by men who played at the highest level, yet held down full time day jobs. What a different time that was!
One of the clips features a Lansdowne FC 7s playing in the renowned Middlesex 7s tournament. The 1980 tournament was the centenary of Middlesex RFU and Lansdowne FC had the honour of being the only non-British team to be invited to play.
The Lansdowne FC squad for the Middlesex 7s on Saturday 3rd May, 1980 was:
- B. Winkworth
- R. Moroney
- M. Quinn
- V. Becker
- M. Keane
- M. MacWhite
- V. Ryan
- P. Boylan
- G. Nyham
Thank you to Mark MacWhite for sharing the images of the match day programme. See the gallery below.
