€37,500!……that’s what Lansdowne FC raised for their local charities during the 2018/19 season under President Kieran Mulligan’s mantra “best on the pitch, best off the pitch”.
At lunchtime today, the representatives of the 6 benefiting charities gathered in the clubhouse as Kieran presented them with the obligatory oversized cheque!
*IRFU CHARITABLE TRUST-€1.5K – this was raised by the U13’s bag packing in Merrion Shopping Centre. Having reached their tour fundraising target, they came up with the idea to donate their surplus to the Charitable Trust.
*ARC CANCER SUPPORT CENTRE MERRION ROAD-€12,000 – raised at the Lansdowne Ladies Lunch, hosted by Kieran’s wife the late Tash Mulligan.
The remaining money was raised either through the Inaugural President’s Charity Day in April, personal donations or sponsorships from Members and Friends.
