There is one eagerly awaited fixture at Under 12s and that is the annual Jimmy Simpson Cup match between old rivals Lansdowne FC and Heriot’s RFCl, Edinburgh.

Heriot’s always arrive with a bit of a flourish and a lot of elan about them and this year was no different.  Word on the street is they enjoyed themselves tremendously the evening before in Mulligan’s Sandymount and they were keen to brush off the cobwebs on the back pitch.

The Jimmy Simpson Memorial Cup is named in honor of former Heriots President  Jimmy Simpson who died unexpectedly at the age of 67 while on holiday in Ireland.

Lansdowne however won the day 2 games to 0 on aggragate.
