Simon McDowell’s Under 13s won their Leinster league Final today against a tough, wily and very able Newbridge today on the back pitch at Bective Rangers in Donnybrook. The Kildare men got off to a good start with two tries in the first half versus a Lansdowne penalty from the boot of Jack McDowell. Some really tough defending by Newbridge and some crucial turnovers by them right on their try line kept the Dublin boys out. But it was Lansdowne who dug deep in the second half and some consistent forwards pressure saw them cross over for 3 tries to finish the game 17-12 at the final whistle.

Thanks to Club President Mick Dawson for being in attendance and for presenting Captain Sean Goggin with his medal and the all important trophy.

Well done to the boys and the coaching team for a fantastic season so far. As Johnny Maguire says – “Merci”.

Our commiserations to a fantastic and sporting Newbridge RFC and to Enda and his team of coaches. We look forward to seeing you next season.

Finally thanks to Referee Shane Hughes from Blackrock College RFC for running a fine game.
