David McKeown and Alan Reddan’s fantastic Under 13 squad saw on rivals Roscrea RFC in the Leinster League Final at Ballycorus yesterday.

Lansdowne went ahead early with a try in the river corner which went unconverted however soon enough Roscrea were given a penalty try to bring them ahead. Lansdowne showed some great skills and scored another 2 tries both converted to bring them to 19-7 at the half time whistle. Roscrea to their credit never gave up and pushed the Lansdowne boys to the limit with two tries of their own only one of which was converted leaving it 19-19 in the final 10 minutes of play. Some possession on the opposition 22 followed by a much needed try which was very ably converted brought the score to 26-19. Roscrea fought like demons to get out of their own 22 with the referee signalling last play of the game, Roscrea kicked it long field, the ball was caught and kicked to touch giving Lansdowne the title. Well done to the boys for a fantastic display of game management.

Full Time score 26-19

Full credit to the boys from Roscrea RFC for a fantastic game worthy of a final. Many thanks to Des Cunningham Leinster age-grade coordinator, John Kerr and his Leinster refereeing team and to Dara Donohue Leinster HonSec for all the hard work.
