Tuesday 30th October saw the Lansdowne U15’s take part in a Leinster Rugby team trials day in Donnybrook.  The boys had an unusually early mid week start meeting at 9am for a 9:30 kick off which saw them play 3 matches against Barnhall, Malahide and St. Mary’s College.  Barnhall were able to use a significant forwards size difference to their advantage and they won that bout but the LFC boys were able to close down Malahide and Mary’s to win those two.

Man of the match must surely go to Nick Power-Smyth for his herculean effort in getting to the match.  NPS started his journey the night before in New York City and had somehow arranged with the Aer Lingus flight crew to be let off the aircraft first.  They touched down in Dublin Airport at 08:10 and were ready to go with a pat on the back from the stewardess and somehow made it to Donnybrook by 9am. We dont believe the great Brian O’Driscoll ever got first class treatment like that.   Now there’s dedication !

Well done to all the boys for a terrific effort and to all the parents for helping out and getting there.
