Nine o’clock on a quiet Winter’s Sunday morning, the residents of Stradbrook and its surrounds were surely expecting a nice and cosy extra few minutes in the warmth and comfort of their beds, happy in the knowledge that the troubles of the world were not their own. Despite this, they got the booming voice of Lansdowne 2009 boys senior coach John Martin, calling his underlings to attention and assigning them their teams for the mornings action against old rivals Blackrock College RFC.

Lansdowne fielded 5 teams of boys (and our one girl), 40 children in total to entertain the parents and practice their tacking, rucking and mauling on the Stradbrook lower back pitches.

LFC made a clean sweep of the mornings encounter save for a couple of games lost. Well done to all. Next stop our good friends in Greystones on Sunday 26th.
