Lansdowne U20s  clinched the League with a game to spare on Sunday when they overcame Terenure in Lakelands.
Playing with a strong wind, Lansdowne started well when Nure failed to deal with the kick-off, and after a series of rucks Neal Moylett crashed over to give the 20s a quick lead. Terenure responded well though with a well-taken try after they broke out and handled well.
With the conversion missed the teams were level. At this stage of the match,it was apparent that the Lansdown pack were starting to dominate, especially at scrum time. Terenure infringed and from the ensuing penalties, the 20s kicked to the corners and exerted fierce pressure on the Nure line.
Two further tries came from the pack via Diarmuid Brannock and Jack Loscher.
Both were converted by Stephen Madigan to give Lansdowne a 19-5 lead at half time.
Playing into the wind, Lansdowne dominated the 2nd half and further tries from Eoin Buggy and Sean Neary gave Lansdowne a well-deserved win and the title.
The Lansdowne management team & squad would like to thank all their supporters who attended and also a special thanks to Terenure President, Paul Murphy for the hospitality afforded to us after the game. The spirit of comradery is very much alive in club rugby.
The final league fixture this season is against DUFC in College Park on Sunday.
