Following a remarkable season for the under 17s which included the John Ward Plate win against Boyne and being crowned Leinster Premier League winners against Balbriggan, the 17s were hopeful to make it a 3 out of 3 with the Leinster Invitational Cup versus DLSP.

However, their destiny lay elsewhere as DLSP went on to win a tough and ardent encounter 12-14 at HQ.  Despite the best efforts of the lads and some really inspirational play with 2 tries scored (1 conv) and with 2 disallowed Lansdowne tries, it was an unlucky kickable penalty that brought DLSP ahead from a single point deficit to win.

DLSP went on to win against Clontarf on bank holiday monday 71-10

Despite the disappointment, the Lansdowne Under 17s can take the summer off knowing they had a turly fabulous season.  Our thanks to all the boys, their parents, the coaches (Ian Prendiville & Barry Goulding) and the team management Michael O’Brien, Michael Herity & Donal McEvoy and ever present support from Tom Dunne.
