Cold.

Blustery.

Biting.

That’s the three words that come to mind when we opened the doors for our French visitors from US Athletic Mougerre Rugby club from near Bayonne in the South Eastern region of France.  Lansdowne Road was not a place for the faint hearted on Sunday morning and the eagerness with which the visitors greeted the indoors was obvious.

Lansdowne Under 14s hosted two teams from Mourgerre and Clontarf U14s.  Memories of a lifetime as their head coach put it.  Two very well contested matches were played.  1 each by the Tarf boys and Lansdowne against a French side that were well drilled and used to playing running Rugby through the hands.

After a fabulous display, we all retired to the bar where there was hot food available aplenty.  There were some presentations made from both sides and Galvo came away with the traditional Gallic beret to add to our Presdient, Kieran Mulligans version.

Thanks to everybody who contributed to a great day especially to Joe Toomey from Clontarf for bringing over his boys for the event.
