In the space of a fortnight the u14 were away to Seapoint twice, never an easy task, even once!

In the first, a league outing, we were the stronger team winning the fixture 6 tries to 2. All in all a solid team performance with plenty in the tank. The result puts us in a strong league position with one game remaining before the semifinals.

In the second outing we were playing Cup rugby, drawn away from home. On a wintery morning we knew to expect a tougher assignment vs Seapoint. The early exchanges delivered a good contest but our defence held on. We try to play through the phases when in possession. We can then release our runners, this is working well.

We got the 1st score through fullback Simon O’Kelly, our “quickie”. This gave us the confidence we needed. 2 further tries from Simon put the contest to rest. We did concede late but this was constellation only for Seapoint. 17-7 the result, a well worked hat-trick.

Next up we have Old Belvo in the Cup. Unusually they had no team representing in the league so somewhat of an unknown quantity in the 2nd round.

Overall the u14 are a strong side, playing team rugby with plenty of potential. Will keep you updated.
