It was the case of the proverbial game of two halves in Angelsea Rd on Sunday, where the U20s overcame Old Belvedere to retain their winning ways in the JP Fanagan Premier League.

Old Belvedere started well and were 7-0 up within a few minutes of the kick-off. Lansdowne struggled to gain any possession during this first half and were indeed fortunate to keep the difference to one score.

The 2nd half provided different though. Having taken the restart cleanly, Lansdowne went on the attack and eventually captain Cillian Redmond went in to open the scoring.

From the restart, a fracas led to an  Old Belvedere yellow card. Lansdowne took full advantage and Mark Boyle rolled over to give Lansdowne the lead. Belvo replied with a long-range penalty to narrow the gap.

But then Lansdowne scored three unanswered tries through Diarmuid Brannock, Stephen Madigan, and Sean Wafer to close out the game.
