Alan Reddan’s merry men were away an Under 8s Blitz courtesy of our Stepaside neighbours De La Salle Palmerston.  There was a great turnout given the early hour with the first match scheduled to start at 9am.  We saw action against DLSP, Terenure and Tallaght RFC and it is great to see the numbers each of the clubs are turning out.

What was really evident is the boys growing understanding of the go-forward game.  They were showing some great running into contact, layoff and quick support skills which caught a lot of their opposition napping.  The tackling game is coming on very well and the boys really are getting a sense of not allowing the oppostion play the ball forward with many of the oppostion ball carriers bundled into touch.  Most importantly however, Lansdowne were able to convert most of their possesion into scores.  Our thanks to hosts DLSP, and the opposition teams Tallaght RFC and Terenure.

Well done boys and we’ll see you again after the Mid-terms
