The Lansdowne u12 Girls were in action on Sunday 17th in Greystones in the Leinster Metro Girls Blitz featuring teams from all over the Metro area.  The girls were combined with a side from Coolmine and were called ‘Landmine’ for the day.  This was the girls first experience with contact and coach Steve Rooney and Hannah Tyrrell had obviously taught them well.   In their first match against Terenure they were caught short by a couple of tries before they got into their stride and tries by Chloe Fagan, Anna Moran & Alanna O’Neill who were used to running the quick ball and getting around the edges of the Terenure defence.

In the Second game versus Old Belvedere / Seapoint, it was much the same with some intense tackling coming from all the girls especially Ruby Kenny and Emily Dillon who’s father Eddie Dillon is a Lansdowne stalwart.  Emily played her heart out and put in some really important tackles against the opposition.

Thanks to Coach Hannah Tyrrell who drove all the way from Limerick first thing to get there and support her girls.

Many thanks to all the girls and parents who turned out on such a cold Sunday
