Lansdowne are delighted to announce that Saturday April 2nd will be designated Climb for Ingo Day to commemorate our much loved friend and true Lansdowne man Paul Inglis.

As we all know, Ingo fought the good fight but succumbed to Motor Neuron Disease last summer.

Since then Charlie Bird has revealed he is suffering with MND and is organising a nationwide fundraiser on April 2nd called Climb with Charlie when he will attempt to climb Croagh Patrick. People all over the country are being asked to partake by climbing a local hill or mountain to raise funds for MND research and it is in this spirit that we intend to strike out on foot from Lansdowne to the top of Three Rock and back on the morning of April 2nd .

The route is approximately 25k and will take approximately 5 hours to complete but don’t panic … we propose breaking it into manageable chunks for those who don’t fancy the full 25K !  The Dropping Well and the Carpark at the base of Three Rock will be alternative starting / dropping off points! The final leg will be from the Dropping Well to Lansdowne which is 4km and should take about 40 min and is relatively flat.

Our Firsts play Terenure in a crucial AIL game that afternoon with a 2.30 kick off so the plan is to depart from Lansdowne at 8.30am to make it back in time for a refreshment before the game! The plan is to celebrate Ingo (and hopefully a win) into the evening. We encourage all those, walking or not, to make this a special occasion.

The club has set up a GoFundMe page for donations and all money raised will go to MND research in memory of Ingo. Click HERE to donate

Please keep the day free and lets make it one to remember in honour one of the truly great Lansdowne men.
