We were truly touched by the attendance of so many Lansdowne members at our dad’s funeral. It just wasn’t possible to speak to everyone individually on the day, and in the time since then I realised that we didn’t really have any way to extend our gratitude. We were deeply appreciative of, and profoundly touched by the “guard of honour” outside the church after the funeral mass. So many people remarked on this, and it is a wonderful memory for us to carry with us. Dad loved Lansdowne, and was a faithful member over so many years. He was honoured to be a president and a trustee of a club that meant so much to him. We, his family, wanted to thank all the old comrades that honoured his life and memory back in February.

We were, and remain grateful for their presence and support.
