Safety Statement

Policy

The Management Committee of Lansdowne Football Club (LFC) is committed to compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 to 2012, and any amendments thereof, and in doing so will provide for all its members, employees and visitors an environment that is as safe and healthy as is reasonably practicable and will comply with all relevant statutory requirements.

LFC will provide a safe system of operation through the provision of appropriate information, instruction, training and supervision. The co-operation of every member and employee is expected and all members and employees are reminded that statutory obligations are the minimum standard for which they are responsible.

Scope

The provisions of this statement will apply to all LFC members, employees, visitors and outside agencies such as Contractors, ESB, etc. and to any agency that may from time to time have to affect deliveries or to service equipment which is located on the premises.

Responsibilities

The Management Committee, Officers of the Club, Coaches, Members and employees have a range of responsibilities which are set out in detail in the full Safety Statement.

The Honorary Secretary, Marcus Hunt, is the designated Health & Safety Officer. Everyone, being primarily responsible for their own safety, should act accordingly and not do anything that places either themselves or others, or the Club premises or Club equipment in a hazardous or risky situation.
If anyone comes across a situation which they think is, or has the potential to be, a hazardous or risky situation they are obliged to immediately bring it to the attention of the Health & Safety Officer, or any Committee or staff member in his absence.

N.B. Parents – your children should never be in the Gym, on the balcony, or in the Medical Room (except for treatment).

Summary

LFC is fully committed to providing, in so far as is reasonably practicable, a safe and healthy environment for all persons using the Club and its facilities, but this can only be achieved with the co-operation of those persons in complying with the Club’s Health and Safety requirements.
