The third Three Castle Ball took place last Saturday (22 April), proving to be a great success for a third successive year.

Over 140 guests attended with a great mix of players from 1sts, Junior and Under 20s squads, plus their significantly better other halves.

On the night, guests were welcomed to a complimentary new Profile Picture or just a general souvenir, a prosecco reception which was made light work of and shortly after moved in for a sit-down dinner in the Zurich Room.

Club Captain Jack O’Sullivan welcomed all guests for the evening and lead the reduced number of speeches for the night.

Fantastic entertainment was provided by Guto Piazza who did his third year in a row for the ball, a live band that provoked good use of the dance floor, and DJ that kept things going. Mr George Morris also ought to be mentioned for setting the entertainment off with a quick spoons rendition.

Congratulations to Tom Barry’s table, strangely named “Alcoholics Anonymous” for winning the table competition on the night for their submissions of their favourite Lansdowne tradition and 2022/2023 season memory. Notable mentions to Brian Whelan’s Son’s Table and Fr Godfrey Runners Up tables for their less PG submissions.
The party continued with the ever accommodating Leggs on Leeson St. until the early hours of the morning.

A special thanks to Stephanie, without whom nothing would have happened, Elayne, Verve Agency, the Bar Staff for their valued service and to Con O’Donoghue for the professional photography.

The three castle ball is proving to be a date for the diary since its intro and as ever the night will be remembered as one of the highlights of the 150.
